For Metal :
The grits 80 grit is particularly suitable for rough and rusty steel
120 and 240 grit made repairing deeper scatches and marks
The fine grits ( 400, 600-800 ) are specialy used before high-gloss polishing.
For wood :
The grits 80 and 120 are particularly suitable for rough woodwork.
The grits 240, 400 - 600 are suitable for finer woodwork.
